Batman’s Decline from Hero to Just Another Angsty White Guy

How do you want Batman to be?  While it’s clear that not a lot of people want the kitschy Batman from the TV show in the 60s, many feel that his descent into being unrelentingly grim and dark does him no favors either.

The writer of the article states his position here:

…Batman, for all his shadowy impulses, was once an aspirational figure. But it’s hard to look at the gloomy version of him in Batman v Superman—the one whose every silent-sigh gesture looks as though it should be accompanied by bottom-of-the-screen depression-medication fine print—and think, “Man, that looks like a cool gig.” By stripping him of any inner weirdness or levity or even the slightest inclination toward joy, Snyder has turned Batman into little more than a rich, angsty middle-aged white dude. Maybe that’s who he really was all along. Either way, I don’t need to see any more movies about those guys.

How do you guys like Batman’s incarnation now?
