Happy Holidays from the Hillbilly Hilton™

Posted by on Dec 27, 2013

Happy Holidays from the Hillbilly Hilton™.  For those of you that don’t know the origin of the Hillbilly Hilton™ it all started when my wife saw me out on the patio smoking a cigar and watching a Football game thru the sliding glass door.  It was her idea that we create an outdoor man cave for my smoking, and sporting, needs.

Gradually we added more seating, a TV and of the course the Grill.  The Hillbilly Hilton™ has also grown to include the “Shebilly” Hilton™ which is, an area off the left, where my wife enjoys her morning coffee and plans her day.  The Hillbilly Hilton is open year round but our peak season is from October to May, so plan your visits accordingly!

hhI have been watching the top ten lists that have been released thus far and I have decided to do this a little bit differently.  When I enjoy a cigar, with all due respect, I don’t get into the minutia that most magazines and bloggers get into. By minutia I am referring to the ubiquitous “the first third included subtle notes of French Vanilla.”  OK you were probably drinking some fru fru coffee with some flavored creamer.  Nine times out of ten when I am smoking a cigar I drink water.

So with that said my top ten cigars are ones that I enjoyed from 1/1/2013 – 11/30/2013, The order is random, very random, and in the interest of full disclosure I am the Arizona Disseminator for House of Emilio, distributors of Emilio Cigars, Herederos de Robaina, Rodrigo, Guayacan Cigars, 1502 Cigars (GPC), Ezra Zion, Nomad, and Bodega Premium Blends.  My “affiliation” with House of Emilio in no way influenced the outcome of this list.  So without further delay here are my top cigars for 2013.

  • Ezra Zion Tantrum Prensado Pequeno*
  • Davidoff Nicaraguan Puro Short Corona
  • Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Perfecto
  • Nomad Estelí LE 1386 Toro*
  • Ortega Wild Bunch Fast Eddie Lancero
  • Nomad S-307 Toro*
  • Room 101 Master Collection One Mutante Lancero
  • Guayacan Habano Ecuador Toro*
  • Davidoff Club House Toro
  • Regius Seleccion Orchant Robusto LE

Honorable Mention

  • Psyko 7 Robusto
  • San Cristobal Revelation by Ashton Robusto
  • Azan Natural Maduro Robusto
  • Fratello Robusto
  • Esteban Carreras Chupa Cabra Robusto Grande

There you have it. Bear in mind there no rhyme or reason to this list except these are the cigars that I enjoyed them once and in the following weeks or months I made a point to find more.

I wish each and every one of you all the very best for a happy and healthy 2014.

  1. Nice list. I recently bought a house and am working on my own little oasis.

  2. Awesome. Do you have any type of climate control so you can keep your cigars out there? Or refrigeration for drinks and snacks?

  3. Here Here for the Man Oasis!!! Very nice list especially the Nomad S-307.

  4. Solid list. I need to give the Davidoff Nica Puro a try.

  5. Jeff – I’ve been wanting to try the Psyko, but keep skipping over it at my B&M. I won’t now. I’ll pick a couple up on your recommendation.

    Nice article.
