From a wine expert, who has hundreds of glasses, but generally uses only 3 to 4 and he wants to cut that down further.  If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for us.  His most important tip?

I don’t make any distinction between glasses, whether I’m drinking red, white, or rosé wine. The main thing is to have a bowl with lots of room and that tapers towards the rim. Fill the glass no higher than its widest point, and you allow the aromas to accumulate and give yourself room to swirl the wine. Swirl a too-full glass, and you may have problems.
