Pre-light draw reveals an earthy essence.  Slightly less than perfect draw but a touch up cut opens it up nicely.

Immediately after lighting up I am hit with dark earthy flavors.  This is accompanied by hay undertones which compliment nicely.  The flavors are well very rich and enjoyable.  The retrohale reveals aged tobacco sweetness.

The second third brings with it slight floral woody notes.  This cigar is quite enjoyable.  The dark rich flavors are right up my alley.  By the end of this third the flavors start to change.

In the final third the woodiness really comes to the forefront as the earth flavors move to the background.  However, I slow down, even more than normal, and the woodiness dissipates slightly and the sweet tobacco flavors come back.  It was at this point I experienced a random citrus note on the retrohale.  Half way through this third the cigar starts to become bitter.  The woodiness resurfaces in full force so I let the cigar go out.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable cigar.  Its complexity kept me on my toes the whole endeavor.  It is because of this that I rate this cigar a 9 out of 10.

  1. Tried this out for the first time the other day. Loved how it developed through out the smoke.
